Invincibility will get you through the first falling chip, and you shouldn't see the second one, as the fight will end quickly this way. Now the trick: as soon as you start phase 4, pop super, get invinvible and just fire spreadshoot upwards.
Kill stuff on left and right, then shoot upwards. Phase 3 is hectic, but spreadshot helps a lot. If using spreadshot, it will be very fast. Stay in the middle for the whole phase 2. Phase 2 is actually the easiest, parry the bomb as soon as it appears (you can time that out relatively easy), and the axe has very consistent pattern, that requires you to stay in place when it spawns, and then move to another platform, then go back. Use chaser for phase 1, starting from phase 2, use only spreadshot. So eventually, my tactic was to use invincibility as super, 4 hearts, chaser and spreadshot. This fight is extremely random in several places and even if you establish some ways of handling certain harder elements, the random spawns/directions still get you most of the time.įrom what I could see, using special moves or super move doesn't change much in this fight (maybe even nothing). And it wasn't for lack of skill, bad loadout or something like that. I've had a fair share of tries with King Dice, but Devil took me 3 frickin' hours - and I started hitting phase 3-4 after 30 mins or so. I can get to Stage 3 about 50% of the time, 80% if only including outright deaths, not retries. Doesn't matter your skill, you will lose sometimes because things stacked up in an unavoidable way. This level definitely has some luck elements to it. Again, this is after the axe is already in motion so I should be able to see the trajectory. But with the Poker chips I can't always wait so I dash and the axe makes a much tighter pass than I thought it was going to. If I use the strategy where i stay on the outer rocks until it's first pass and them move in I'm good. I've played the level so many times, spent two hours on it so far, so I should know it very well. Do I jump or dash? Who knows? Good luck!Īnd I swear that spinning axe has the ability to subtly change its arc midway through. The ring of homing fire also gets me because it is random which one is going to fly at you. That timing is subtly random.Īnd the snake thing can still be unavoidable if you get bad timing with the demons. Once in a while though, when I hesitate I get hit in the face because BAM there they are. Sometimes it takes almost a whole second for the goat arms to come out, so I have to hesitate before jumping. The Devil is definitely easier than King Die, but it definitely has its unfair moments. Not only that, you can have a circle of fire balls and an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ running across the screen while he smashes his hands together AT THE SAME TIME.
Making it impossible to predict when you should jump. I mean, I got frusturated with all the other fights yeah, but it never really wanted to make me throw my controller, I wanted to keep doing it until I found a way to beat them.īut the first phase alone, his fire ability is completely random and can be used at the start at the fight and one of 3 can be cast at you, the circle I found to be the most annoying, there's his head that he turns into a spider that he tries to smash you with, theres the whole dragon thing he does with his entire body going across one side of the screen (Also random) and not to mention theres a tiny ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ running across the screen.īUT ALSO, he smashes his hands together, the problem with these for me, I figured it required near frame perfect precision, however, it seems the amount of time he smashes his hands together, IS ALSO RANDOM. So I got to the Devil today and I really don't know.
